Canada House (Kedra/Cambroil) Built 1902 This Queen Anne Revival house was built for Hon. James D. Ryan, originally of Kedra, Ireland, and later owned by Sir Michael Cashin, who dubbed it "Cambroil." In 1941 it was bought by the Canadian government to house its High Commissioner in Newfoundland. Following Confederation in 1949 it was home and office to first premier Joseph R. Smallwood until 1960. Canada House (Kedra/Cambroil) is designated a Registered Heritage Structure by Heritage NL. Find more at heritagenl.ca.
