Running the Goat, Books & Broadsides is a micro press in Tors Cove, Newfoundland, owned and operated by Marnie Parsons, a former scholar of children's literature. The press publishes children's literature alongside a line of letterpress-printed books, chapbooks, broadsides, and "poemphlets," produced on three antique presses — including an 1830s iron hand press — and sewn by hand. The shop is named for the traditional Newfoundland dance, with Parsons citing "the playfulness and intensity" of the dance as inspiration for the handmade books. Visitors to the Tors Cove shop can see the vintage presses and the type collection. Source: CBC News profile of Marnie Parsons. source
