Vagrant Press is the literary fiction imprint of Nimbus Publishing, the Halifax-based Atlantic Canadian press, launched in 2005. Nimbus owner John Marshall named the imprint after his family's first boat (Nimbus took the name from the second), citing "vagrant's" connotations of wandering, unpredictability, and lawlessness as desirable qualities in fiction. The imprint operates with no set quota and aims to publish only those novels, in its own words, "that absolutely must be published and should be read." Vagrant titles are distributed across Atlantic Canada and nationally. Source: Nimbus Publishing "Our Story." source
