Véhicule Press is an independent English-language publisher in Montréal, founded in 1973 on the premises of Véhicule Art Inc., one of Canada's first artist-run galleries. After the original co-op dissolved in 1981, publisher Simon Dardick and his partner Nancy Marrelli moved operations to the ground floor of their home and added Signal Editions, a poetry imprint created the same year by Michael Harris. Signal has since published over 170 poetry titles, many by first-time authors. The press today comprises four imprints: Signal Editions, Esplanade Fiction, Ricochet Books, and Dossier Québec.
